Disassembling Toshiba Satellite 1415 notebook. Teardown guide with pictures. Repair laptop yourself. STEP 2
Remove the laptop battery.
STEP 3
Remove one screw securing the hard drive bay cover.
Remove the hard drive bay cover.
Remove the hard drive out of the bay.
STEP 4
Remove the memory cover, the Wi-Fi card cover, the modem cover.
Remove the memory module, the Wi-Fi card, the modem.
STEP 5
Remove all screws from the underside of the computer.
STEP 6
Carefully lift off the securing strip at the top of the keyboard.
STEP 7
Remove the keyboard securing strip.
STEP 8
Remove all screws securing the laptop keyboard.
STEP 9
Disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.
Lift the edges of the connector first and then carefully disconnect the keyboard cable.
STEP 10
Remove screws securing the power switch board.
Disconnect the USB cable from the system board.
Lift off the power switch board.
STEP 11
Remove all screw from the support plate.
Remove the DVD drive securing screw.
STEP 12
Slide the DVD drive to the right and remove it.
STEP 13
Disconnect the LCD cable from the system board.
Disconnect left and right speaker cables from the system board.
Disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.
STEP 14
Carefully release the latches securing the upper cover assembly to the lower.
Lift off the upper cover assembly.
Carefully remove the Wi-Fi cables.
STEP 15
Separate the upper and lower cover assemblies.
STEP 16
Disconnect the floppy drive cable from the system board.
Lift off the floppy drive.
STEP 17
Remove the screw securing the touchpad.
Lift off the touchpad.
STEP 18
Disconnect the sound board cables from the system board.
Remove the screw.
Lift off the sound board.
STEP 19
Remove screws securing the HDD connector board.
Lift off the HDD connector board.
Lift off the battery board.
STEP 20
Lift off the battery connector cover.
STEP 21
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove two screws securing the heat sink unit.
Remove the screw securing the fan.
Lift off the heat sink unit.
STEP 22
Remove two screws securing the connect holder assembly.
Lift off the connect holder assembly.
STEP 23
Remove two hexa studs from the system board.
Remove three flat-head screws.
Disconnect DC cable.
Lift the system board out of the lower cover assembly.
STEP 24
Rotate the CPU lock.
Lift the CPU off the socket.
STEP 25
Remove four screws securing the PC card connector.
Carefully lift off the PC card connector.
STEP 26
Done!
